Enjoying the Opportunity in the Journey!

I have never felt more opportunity to attain one of my goals than I do today. I have had several professional goals: ~ One was to finish my education. I have finished up with a master’s degree.   ~ Another goal was to work full-time as a faculty member at a university. I am still living that dream. ~ One other goal was to become a published author.  This is both a professional goal and a personal goal. This goal I had started, stopped, and started. Matter of fact, it’s a joke between my husband and myself. With every attempt to write my grand work, I get a new computer. As soon as that computer is about two or three years old, I am still nowhere towards being a published author.   Not this time, I said. The time I decided I would put as much effort into the journey of becoming published as I did in obtaining my degrees. I have thrown myself into the adventure. I know, for the first time, that the opportunity to see my first novel published is right around the corner. The publishing industry has changed dramatically since I last participated. Not to mention, I am much wiser than I was in the past. I know my skills and abilities. In the past, I doubted everything because I did not realize enough of myself. I do believe that opportunity is what we make of it. I do not think breaks land in our laps. We have to seek them out, plan them, and be diligent in the daily act of working towards them. I have never been more open to the opportunity of my publishing goal as I am now. It is thrilling. How about you, are your opportunities within reach?
