Friendship & the Journey!

I have not lacked friendship. I have been blessed to have friends in every aspect of my life, including my best friends—my husband & daughters.   A friendship of authors has been where I have been lacking. The support of creative minds, like myself, who are in the active role of the journey. Mostly, that has fallen on me. I have never admitted to myself or to any other living human that I was a writer until late last year. I kept that part of my life secret. It is no wonder that I desperately needed a community of creative minds of authors. Creative individuals have always been in my life; my husband's role in the music industry as a drummer has allowed us amazing connections around the world—with fabulously talented musicians. I have bumped into authors along that way that I admired. But I was not at the place to admit my creative dreams & aspirations. They seemed too small & unachievable on the scale of our lives during the time. With this new project of podcasting and writing, I have developed bonds with exciting authors around the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I may not get the opportunity to visit with them face-to-face on a daily or even weekly basis, but my community is building---one interview at a time. With the wonder of technology, we can stay close and share our experiences. We have encouraged one another.  We practice the art of reading-editing-and providing feedback to one another. We collaborate on marketing ideas. We laugh together, and most importantly, we check on one another to make sure we are staying joyful, mindful, and creative!   What a blessing to stumble upon these types of friendships while seeking knowledge. I could not survive the weekly battles between work, writing, producing a podcast, and my family life without these friendships.   How about you, have you surrounded yourself with friendships that encourage and inspire you?
